Writing Competition
A premium writing competition created to recognize powerful stories, original manuscripts, and outstanding books by independent and emerging authors — with a $10,000 Grand Prize and professional recognition.
The AuthorSpark Book Award is a premium writing competition created to recognize powerful stories, original manuscripts, and outstanding books by independent and emerging authors. The purpose of this award is to give writers a professional platform where their work can receive recognition, visibility, and promotional value in the publishing world.
This competition is open to authors who believe their book has the potential to stand out. Whether the work is unpublished, self-published, or independently published, The AuthorSpark Book Award gives authors the opportunity to submit their writing for review and compete for a major prize.
Unlike multi-round competitions, The AuthorSpark Book Award will have only one round of judging. All eligible entries will be reviewed after the submission period closes, and the Grand Prize Winner will be selected directly from the complete pool of submissions.
The mission of The AuthorSpark Book Award is to discover and celebrate authors with fresh voices, strong ideas, and meaningful stories. This award is designed to support writers by giving them recognition that can strengthen their author brand and create more confidence around their book or manuscript.
The competition aims to highlight books that show strong writing quality, originality, structure, storytelling power, reader engagement, and overall publishing potential. The award is not only about selecting a winner, but also about creating a professional space where serious authors can take their work forward.
Submissions for The AuthorSpark Book Award will officially open on June 1 and close on June 30. All entries must be submitted within this official contest period.
Entries received after June 30 will not be accepted. Authors are encouraged to complete their submissions before the closing date to avoid missing the deadline.
The final selection and Grand Prize Winner announcement will take place on July 10. The selected winner will receive the $10,000 prize along with official Grand Prize Winner recognition.
The Grand Prize Winner of The AuthorSpark Book Award will receive a $10,000 prize. Along with the prize, the winner will receive official Grand Prize Winner recognition that can be used for promotional and marketing purposes.
The Grand Prize Winner may also receive a digital award badge, a featured author spotlight, and promotional recognition through selected official platforms. This recognition can help the winning author build credibility, strengthen book marketing, and present their work as an award-recognized title.
Selected finalists may also receive official finalist recognition and a digital finalist badge. Finalist recognition can be used on the author's website, social media, book marketing materials, and other promotional platforms.
The AuthorSpark Book Award is open to authors submitting original written work in English. Eligible entries may include unpublished manuscripts, self-published books, independently published books, fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, self-help books, business books, inspirational books, young adult books, and general interest books.
All submitted work must be original and must belong to the submitting author or an authorized representative. The entry must not violate any copyright, trademark, privacy rights, publicity rights, or intellectual property rights of any third party.
Authors may submit more than one book or manuscript. However, each submission must be entered separately and must include a separate entry fee. Incomplete entries, late entries, inaccurate information, or submissions that do not meet the contest requirements may be disqualified.
The official entry fee for The AuthorSpark Book Award is $500 per submission. The entry fee must be paid at the time of submission for the entry to be officially accepted and reviewed.
All entry fees are non-refundable. Once an entry has been submitted and processed, the fee will not be returned for any reason. This includes withdrawal from the contest, missed deadlines, duplicate submissions, incomplete materials, disqualification, or failure to win.
By submitting an entry, the author confirms that they understand and agree that the $500 entry fee is final and non-refundable.
Each submission must include the author's basic information, book title, book category or genre, complete manuscript or book file, short book description, author bio, contact details, and payment confirmation.
Authors may also include optional materials such as a book cover, author photo, website link, social media links, or a short marketing summary. These materials may help present the book more clearly, but the main review will be based on the submitted written work.
The AuthorSpark Book Award will follow a one-round judging process. There will be no quarterfinals, semifinals, or multiple elimination stages.
All eligible submissions received between June 1 and June 30 will be reviewed after the submission period closes. The Grand Prize Winner will then be selected directly from the complete pool of eligible entries.
Entries may be judged based on writing quality, originality, story development, structure, clarity, reader engagement, presentation, and overall market potential. The final decision of the judging team will be considered final.
The final selection and prize announcement will take place on July 10. Only one Grand Prize Winner will receive the $10,000 prize.
By entering The AuthorSpark Book Award, the author agrees to follow all contest rules, submission requirements, and judging decisions. The author is responsible for making sure the submitted work is original, accurate, and legally eligible for entry.
The contest organizers reserve the right to reject or disqualify any entry that is incomplete, misleading, offensive, plagiarized, unlawful, or against the contest guidelines. The organizers may also update contest timelines, judging details, prize details, or promotional information if needed.
